In 1916 electric refrigerators were offered for sale at $900. In 1916 Mr. Peanut was created and stainless steel was invented. The 1916 Canton Bulldogs were in their 8th season in the Ohio League. That year they got their first sole league title. Gas was $0.16 in 1916. The first 40 hour work week officially began. Kirk Douglas, Betty Grable and Beverley Cleary were born. A bottle of coca-cola was $0.05 and a loaf of bread was $0.07 and The Boston Red Sox won the World Series … All in 1916. Last BUT definitely not least, my wonderful and amazing grandma was born. This year she turns 95 – 95 years young!! 95 years spent in this world. She is a mother of 3, a grandmother of 5 and a great grandmother of 6. She is what all people should be like. She finds the good in all people. My grandmother has a greater capacity for compassion and understanding than most. My Grama is a tender soul, thoughtful, caring, considerate and giving. Her Heart for others never ceases to amaze me and every single day I am eternally grateful for her presence in my life. I’m sharing photos of the love, friends and family that celebrated her birthday with us. Thanks for spending a few minutes here ![]()
