On this particular friday the sun was warm and the sky was blue – a winning combination that set the stage for a super amazing outdoor wedding day for Josh and Alex. This day introduced us to 2 new places; The Botzum Farmstead and also The Inn at Brandywine Falls, both part of The Cuyahoga Valley National Recreation area and both are beautiful areas to incorporate into your wedding day plans. Awesome food, preeeee-ttty cupcakes, cornhole, a bonfire and dancing under the stars made this their perfect wedding day! I can’t wait to hear where they went for their honeymoon … Alex didn’t even know – Josh set the whole thing up as a surprise for her

We took a little trip to Happy Valley to shoot Nate and Lindsay’s engagement pics. They both have such a busy schedule it was the easiest way and we always like road trips! It couldn’t have been more picturesque deep long valleys and big rolling hills. Green lush farmland all around. Nate and Lindsay met about 6 years ago at the University of Akron and they have been together ever since. Nate will be moving to Ohio right before the wedding and I bet both of them are glad to not be making that commute anymore! Here are some pics!

We had a perfect day for Craig and Vanessa’s engagement session. We had the whole family together Raven, and Cane. Craig is a digital artist and one of the original Second April crew. Vanessa is full of fire and wit. Craig says she is a very talented painter but she won’t admit it. It was a good time. Enjoy

She’s brilliant and cute. He’s quick-witted, smart AND he’s the guy that loves her! Theirs is the story that almost wasn’t after a first date that didn’t happen and each thought the other didn’t show up when in reality they each did – just at different times. They met on his birthday at The Lockview in Akron. She knew he was the one … she just KNEW, after all, when it’s right you know it without question – I understood completely. His friend told him “you are going to marry that girl!” … which brings us to their Akron engagement session and then to their wedding in August. Josh told us in the beginning that he was not looking forward to having his picture taken and that he was not comfortable at all with it but that “he would do it for Alex”. We bet Josh that by the end of the evening he would love having his picture taken, and well, here in their own words, is what happened with that …

“Thank you SO much for all your time last night – Josh and I had a blast! You two made a believer out of him – and that is a near impossible feat.”   Yay for Believers!!

Their outdoor wedding to be held at The Botzum Farmstead can best be described as a Summer party where they just happen to be getting married! We like!! It’s going to be an amazing evening and we can’t wait. Enjoy some of our favorites here!

A Vegas wedding with friends and family! A fun reception with more friends and more family! This is Lisa and Joel Ellegant! If you haven’t been to La Pizzeria on Dressler you should definitely check out their new banquet center. This is where their celebration took place. Friends and family joined them for an evening of great food, music and games – Wii games and DDR!  They played a video of themselves for their family and I saw tears It was a very well done video featuring the two of them discussing how they met through an online dating service … so for all you non-believers – it does work out sometimes:) We have included their video below, BECAUSE IT IS THAT GOOD! Josh and Diana, a beautiful evening downtown, A Studio … all ingredients for a super cute, super fun engagement shoot! We lucked out on the weather(again!) and spent a few hours downtown with this lovely couple whose wedding is coming up in September! It’s funny that no matter how many times we shoot downtown we still manage to find new spots to shoot in. J & D, we look forward to your wedding day and we also look forward to working with our most favorite DJ in the whole wide world … Johnny V.  Enjoy a few of our favorite  photos!

Weather forecasters predicted rain on their wedding day. Mother Nature had something else in  mind …. blue skies and sunshine!! Chris and Megan had an evening ceremony and reception at The Lake Cable Clubhouse and everything was perfect.  They are now back in Virginia as Mr. and Mrs. Henning Congratulations to both of them!!

We went to Chicago to photograph Shannon and Chris. I think this is the first PUB CRAWL engagement photo shoot. I hope it’s not the last. It was an amazingly fun time! We started with the farmers market and ended at The Inner Town Pub where Elvis is alive and kickin’ and the kitsch is for real and also happens to be where Shannon met her Hoffy Squarepants  … with all sorts of stops along the way.. Bangers and Lace where the beer selection is off-the-hook-awesome ….Happy Village where the ping-pong tables are waiting and the patio has a chair for you …. Big Star where you can get a hot dog bigger than your head and you drink beer with hot sauce(there’s a name for this but I forget what it is) and plenty of other little places. We finished up having a fresh-from-the-farmers market-dinner out on the patio of their super cute apartment.  Shannon and Chris get each  other. There’s no doubt these 2 are for real and in love. They’re the type who could finish each others sentence. They are always smiling at each other. I love them both and the fun time spent with them is just the beginning!

I’m not even sure where I should begin when telling you about these two. Rebecca is strikingly beautiful. Eric is smart and funny and if you could see the way he looks at Rebecca, it would make your heart melt….. pure love and adoration for this girl he married yesterday! My cheeks hurt from smiling all day at their wedding. Smiling at them. Smiling with them. Smiling for them!! The reception was full of family tradition and just maybe they started a few of their own(bellydancer?!) The dance moves between Rebecca and her brother Craig  were OFF THE HOOK – He blamed it on Wii … and honestly the dancing didn’t stop ALL NIGHT LONG..It was awesome to see such energy! We thoroughly enjoyed playing a part in this wedding.

P.S. Did I mention they had Kristina’s Kreations Jack Daniels cupcakes?? Yes..you read it right. Jack Daniels!

Rebecca and Eric, much love and congratulations to you both!

Chris and Megan drove 7 hrs from Virginia straight to our studio last Friday. This was a first for us… Not meeting a client, but only corresponding via email. What made it more interesting was that Chris’s mother is who hired us! To say the least we were intrigued and excited to meet them finally. When they walked in they were smiling and making jokes right off the bat. We knew it was going to be a good session. We also knew the weather was rubbish so we planned on going to The Palace Theater and Anderson Creative for some indoor photos. Between first meeting them and wrapping up the shoot about 1 hour went by. Chris and Megan both had bachelor/bachelorette parties to attend that evening. It’s going to be a fun high energy wedding and we can’t wait to take awesome pictures!
